9 Disney Worlds I’d Love to See in the Next Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts has tackled a wide range of Disney films at this point, but not quite all of them yet. There are still a fair few IP which haven’t had their own worlds in Kingdom Hearts yet, and these are the ones I’d love to see in the next console entry.

Treasure Planet

Take Sora on a space journey with Treasure Planet, which could follow the plot of the movie with Sora helping Jim on his way, and taking down a few Heartless threats. Give me a giant heartless which erupts from the titular treasure planet itself, and let me whack that thing with my Keyblade until it drops some good munny. Introduce a mini-game with Solar Surfing and I’m set!

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

We’ve had some water-based adventure with The Little Mermaid and Pirates of the Caribbean, so if Disney and Square Enix want to bring water back with another IP, then Atlantis is the perfect option. The eclectic characters would fit in perfectly with the Kingdom Hearts cast, and it would be cool to see the underwater city come to life again.

The Black Cauldron

One of the Disney classics which many haven’t seen, The Black Cauldron is a darker fantasy movie, but one that could fit in well with the drama of Kingdom Hearts. Also, it’s a banging movie, and I’d love for more people to become familiar with it.

Inside Out

Instead of following the plot of Inside Out, we could maybe find ourselves in a Kingdom Hearts character. Perhaps a new character, with a separate arc in one of the worlds you visit? This would be a great time to show what effect the Heartless has on someone internally, and how the Inside Out gang attempt to make it better from the inside out.

The Great Mouse Detective

Kingdom Hearts could take on an investigative world with The Great Mouse Detective, which could take place over an entire world or maybe a point and click mini-game interspersed with enemy attacks at various crime scenes, etc. It would be cool to see the gang as mice, and to revisit London again — which we haven’t done since flying over the Clock Tower (Big Ben) in Peter Pan’s Neverland in the first Kingdom Hearts.

Wreck-it Ralph

We could forgo the multitude of other IP with a Wreck-it Ralph world, where it could take us into a brand new arcade game, with a cast unique to that world. Of course, we’d still have Ralph and Vanellope, and a handful of different genres could be introduced via mini-games and the world’s main plotline. Wreck-it Ralph is so rich with endless possibilities, that I’d love to wreck it with the big man himself!

Cars

Look, I want so badly to drive around as car Sora, who would suitably be named Soara once the world of Cars realises that he effortlessly soars around the tracks, in a series of racing mini-games. Maybe more could open up as you progress throughout the game? This would be a small world similar to Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood, but darn it if you won’t leave it feeling like a hero. Kachow!

Coco

Coco’s Land of the Dead would be unlike anything we’ve seen before in a Kingdom Hearts game, and it would provide ample reason for a music-based rhythm mini-game, and an opportunity for Sora and friends to learn about another culture, as well as touching on the subject of death in a child-friendly and inspiring way — just like the movie did.

A Bug’s Life

A Bug’s Life could see Sora and friends fight off against Hopper, and include a lovely dandelion flight, and later on a thrilling flight atop a bird as you fight a grasshopper army. The gang could take on the forms of different insects, and fight heartless among the leaves, forests and anthills along with the A Bug’s Life cast.

What worlds would you like to see in the next Kingdom Hearts?
